A refreshing zine from Pine Valley, Hippohank is a mama zine that is a great read for anyone endeavoring to stay creative despite the daily grind. Beth’s struggles with the chaos of motherhood are written about skillfully, and her photo illustrations starring Hank the Hippo are humorous and telling. From Hippohank #1: “Hank is rude. His mouth is perpetually open, full of demands and needs. Me, me, me! Motherhood can be reverent and fulfilling, but for the days when it is not live vicariously through the hippo that doesn’t hold his tongue, that speaks his mind.
